whistling noise from car

hiya im new to this site so sorry if ive posted in the wrong section,i recently got a veba incar dvd player installed now i can hear a whistling noise when i apply the gas,when i leave go of the pedal if goes abit quite,i dont want to hear the kids movies at the front so i only have the middle section and back speakers on,i have a vauxhall zafira 07,the sound goes through my car speakers and it uses the am signal of the radio,the rca cables used have gold plated end on them,ive been told that i need to upgrade the suppressor on the altenator to get rid of the whistling noise,please help a its driving me crazy now and the kids wont resort to having the dvd turned off,is there any cheaper and easy way to do it as i dont know any1 who can sort this out for me and dont want the car to be ripped open again,the dvd player is in the glove compartment,i live in the middlesbrough area if there is any1 who can help me sort this out im willing to a reasonable price to get it sorted,btw this noise only occurs when the radio is on supplying the sound from the dvd player its ok when i play the cd player and other fm radio channels.thanks for help.
