which way to wire

Hows it goin youall, i just discovered this site so i figured i give it a shot. Long story short iv got a single cab chevy that i plan on puttin 2 8" Image dynamic v.3 subs behind the seat. I just bought the amp with is a planet audio BB150.2 and am wanting to hook the subs up in sterio if possible. Also im not sure if i should either get the dual 2 or 4 ohm, im leanin toward the 4 but im really not sure. I really dont want to bridge the amp since these sub cant handle all that much power. Any additional insite would really be appricated. Right now iv got 1 alpine type r 12 and a 500.2 (i think) fosgate, it freakin pounds but im lookin for more room in the cab.

Bridge the amp. You wont get any additional power bridging it at 4 ohms mono as opposed to running two channels at 2 ohms stereo.

There's no need to run subs in stereo.

Get the dual 4 ohm version of the subs.

or 2 ohm SVC.

Get the dual 2's so that you can wire them in series and give each of them 150w since you dont think they will handle 300 each.

O ok, i think i see what your sayin, so if i bridge it to 4 ohms how much of a power difference is it oppost to 2 ohms? From what iv been readin it sounds like i should do like you said and get the dual 4 ohm and hook it up in series. So why is sterio not a good idea when it comes to subs? thanx for the help guys!

bass frequencies (about 100hz and below) are mono frequencies. Although there might be a slight difference in what the subs are playing in stereo, it wont be noticeable. Might as well just hook it up in mono so they play the exact same thing (i.e. prevent possible cancellation).

you will achieve the same power running at 2 ohms stereo or 4 ohms mono. If you think its too much power, turn the gains down. and most amps cannot be bridged at 2 ohms

Stereo has a left and right signal, mono has, guess what, a single signal //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
