which usb portable drives work with kenwood hu?

i have tried 1 12 gig flash drive and 2 portable drives the western digital pass port 160 gig does not work at all even with extra usb power added the simple tech work buts the kenwood wont read all the songs you put on there it seems to read a few then after you put more on it only reads one song and thats it i am looking for someone who has had a working hd on there kenwood hu.
