Which super sub do i get? Avalanche, IDMAX or RL-p?

The reason I brought that up is I was playing around with the 10 inch IDmax (in a .8 sealed) and it will not hit those low notes very well, 30hz ish. Thew Brahma and the W3v2 both hit better on the lowest notes on like late night tip as well as other low songs. I am pretty disappointed with it and would not recommend it if you like the low low bass but it does very well on the higher bass ie kick drums.
whaaaaat.. r u serious? so im missing out on LFE?

but one thing noone mentions about the "super subs" the only 2 i have heard as of so far that didnt sound swooshy is the oz elite and the idmax. when a cone moves that far (at least from what i have heard for myself) there seems to be turbulance of some form....i liked squeaks rl-p from what i heard but it has a faithful gm rear deck issue soon to be corrected. anyone else pick up on this or is it just me?

Well, i love when subs produce the quick kick drum bass, but i also like low low bass. So maybe the IDMax isn't for me, and the RL-P is?

Look man this is getting long and repetitive, get either sub you'll be happy.

The difference is going to be slight and if you cant hear either first then flip a quarter. If you get mad at the sub it lands on then you know you really wanted the other one, so get it.

What do you mean? Was in fake low bass or distortion that I was hearing from the Brahma and the W7?
no alot of rap bass isnt 20-40 hz its usually 40-60 hz with some serious output. i forget the disc but if tou want to see how well a sub will "get down" get a gold copy cd that has the 1812 overature on it. REALLY LOUD 18 hz and up cannon shots. watch the woofer play it moves pretty slow and if you have it loud you can feel the wave not punchy either (that cannon shot isnt good on ported woofers however)

OK, so some people might not like that Chad's pride got in the way or that he used comments made by Dan to open the way for some new tech. he was looking in to but, this situation in now way lowers the performance of the AVA line of subs. They will play lower and tighter in smaller enclosures than most subs and are geared toward the SQ side of the spectrum while still getting loud. It was and has been touted as a must own sub up until the little spat between Chad and Dan and in no way has Chad ever dissed his customers. He or Dale has answered the phone on each and every occasion that I have called to answer any and all my questions and even sent me custom enclosure designs for my install.

Sorry for the long post but bashing a product cause you disagree with a personal spat is lunacy. Chad still backs his products and his customers PERIOD!

hey should i bypass the subsonic filter on my audiocontrol eqx to test the cannon shots on that song?

Depends on your box tuning. If you have a box tuned to 35hz, I probably wouldn't simply because you run the risk of blowing your sub with frequencies that low, a full octave below tuning.

And if your box isn't ported, then definitely bypass the SSF.

Im happy that SS has great customer service, but thats honsetly a small issue to me. Im more concerned abotu the sub itself.
I can not tell you that the AVA is better than the SS sub but what I can tell you is that the AVA is a very very good sub.. It gets real low and can still play high enough to even the music out, something that the Brahma and XXX subs have problems doing. But I have never heard a SS sub and have only read great things about it so I will not discount it. I only posted this about the AVA sub because it was and still is a GREAT sub, people here are just a little upset at how Chad handled himself recently.

i agree. weather anyone wants to admit it or not business isnt always politically correct to begin with. chad should feel he puts out the best product reguardless what he says and same with dan. that is business anyone who seriously takes to heart what either says about the subject misses the point. adire puts out a fookin great product and so does ascendant plain and simple. when people start mixxing in "politacal views" (although not governmental here) it clouds the subject at hand. some of you treat chad like he is that over...dude from the defunkt audiomobile lol . these two arent even close. you might call it drama you might not thing is this kind of thing happens ALL THE TIME
