Which subs would sound better?

need some opinions/advice.

im looking to upgrade my system from some simple KickerComps 10" to some subs with more thump.

im buying Kicker and dont wanna spend more than 200 a piece for the subs...so i have these few in mind...and i have a sealed truck box with .55 box volume (i know its low)

Both subs you mentioned above will sound awful in that box since it's not designed for them. That's the problem with prefab.

I doubt anything you do with that box will sound good, but given that, there are far too many factors to consider.

You need to find a pair of 10's that will do well in .55 sealed, don't try and upgrade to 12's or subs that require more air to work well. It's a waste of money and time and will likely sound worse.

okay thanks for the help.

yeah i know...prefab sucks but i would have no idea how to make a box to fit my truck.

so ill just stick with some 10" that have a low sealed air space

the subs i have in there now have a sealed box volume of 1.0 cubic feet and they sound pretty good...

they only have a .66 volume. would that sound alright if i had a 1000.1 kicker amp?

That's the minimum advised. I'd put about 3/4 a pound of polyfill in each chamber to boost the box size seen by the sub.

No those solobarics would be ok but you should use polyfill it's the synthetic fiber commonly used as pillow stuffing you can buy at WalMart or anywhere for a few bucks.

polyfill is an april fools joke to subs. it makes them think they're in a bigger box.

Kicker ****, Jl Audio 12w3 or IDQv2 they in your price range and they are a lot better.
