I'm about choosing a 12" SQL subwoofer for my system. I listen more funk jazz in daily but basically, I listen to everything. I'm looking for a clean, accurate and deep bass but also can be loud when needed. I will power the sub with my PDX 1.1000 so powering 1000W of sub won't be a problem to me. Sealed box would be my preference for now.

Feel free to give opinion here...

I didn't see the JL W7 12" on the list.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif
cuz not everyone can afford one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif and the w7 is not the end all subwoofer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Thanks for voting in this thread. I don't have any porblem with the pricing espcially with those new brand (to me) has very reasonable price compare to Alpine and JL.

It seems that most people voted for Fi Q and JL W6V2 in other forums as well. I will keep this poll active to hear more from you all. I really appreciate that...

What others think? I see about equal percentage of W6 and Fi Q voted in another forum but more TC-2000 here...Interesting...I'd like to know why do you guys choose your choice...

This is only assumptions, but I have read on both of these subs, and they have been described as good SQL subs. Anyway, both subs have a low 'BL' which is electromagnetic force, and assuming while the 'BL' is low, this means the sub can move quicker. With a sub that can move quicker, it can recreate/reproduce the acoustic notes quicker, and with better accuracy. DD is known for their impressive 'SPL' subwoofers, and have always made woofers that get LOUD, so I was assuming even though the 9100 series is actually an SQ woofer, it will still get quite loud, 'cause face it, it's a DD.

Pretty much all of that was inaccurate.

I can't vote for the W6V2 enough times.

Try a Image Dynamics IDMAX Dual 2 12". I listen to the same stuff and this sub is phenomenal!

Don't forget the Dynamat X Though!
