Which radar detector?

If Im going to drop 300.00 on a radar detector, im looking for something that actually works. After a 180.00 ticket this morning, I need something that will help me out. I know driving un-considerbly fast is unsafe, but I do allot of travel. On 75 mph interstates it's not uncommon to see me doing about 90 mph. I want something that also works with popscan, and lasers.

Get the single din one that blocker radar and sends faulty readings which also has 4 detectors that mount in the four corners of the vehicle! The warranty pays for the tickets!!!!! I saw it somwhere cant remeber wha brand

I like my SR-7.. I've been very happy with it, and I like that it's installed in my car and always on.. No cords, no suctions cups, no worrying about thieves spotting it on my window.. Basically, no hassles.. It's so clean and it saves my *** at least once a week.. Highly recommended.. It costs a little more, but it's worth it.. I can also recommend the 8500 if you're looking for something more basic but equally effective.. Escort is teh shit.. I drive ~45,000 miles/yr and haven't got a ticket since I've had my SR-7.. *knock knock*

Probably the best $400 I've ever spent.. It's a great product..

There are limitations to that 'citation paying' warranty. If the excess speed is 15mph or 15% over the posted limit (whichever is less) they pay nothing.

Additionally, there have been multiple tests indicating that the products in question simply are not effective. Even if they do pay your ticket they won't take care of the points against your license or the potential increase in your insurance coverage. Get a detector that works and lay off the gadgets that don't.

mx519 ~ Do you perchance have an old detector that doesn't work or you simply do not like? Or know someone with a broken one they'd give you just to get it out of their house? If you have a unit (any unit) you can send as a trade-in you can get a Bel Pro RX65 with an extended warranty for a few pennies shy of $300/shipped. Check their website for exact details but that is what I use and it has saved me untold dollars. Devillain00 bought one as well though I haven't seen anything regarding how well he likes it yet...

Anyway, I can suggest that one 'cause I use it and know it works. As well you can get it with a 3yr warranty factory-direct within your stated budget. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I have this one right here, The Valentine.

It's very easy to read through false readings which is usually a pain on cheaper models. The arrow system takes the radar detector to a higher level then all the other ones cuz you know exactly what direction the radars coming from. I love mine and highly reccommend it.

Can you, as a V1 user, tell me the real advantage of knowing what direction a cop may be from you over simply knowing he is somewhere near period? I mean, truly, if my RX65 goes off and I am exceeding the maximum posted limit when it does I'll slow down. I do not particularly care where the cop is exactly relating to my position only that by the time my vehicle is in line-of-sight of his speed detection equipment I am traveling within the allowed limits. /story.
