im thinking about getting some rev's for my car.....i was wondering if it mattered which one's i got...i have 6.5-6.75 openings so i can get the d160r, d161r, d170r, etc....or i can get the premier d701p or d601p

i assume the premiers are better but i dk....

so if anyone's heard the different ones or knows just let me know....thanks

The premiers and standards are pretty much one in the same. Where are these going to be mounted in your vehicle? And if they are going up front, have any thoughts on some components instead?

either front or back....im getting them and another pair...probly either focal 165ca1's, kicker ks65's, ba sx65's, or diamond d361i's.....depending on which one's highs i like better....im not getting comps cuz im not keeping the car that long and i dont wanna cut holes and stuff in my car...im a little new for that......so would the d701p's be worth like 10 extra bucks over the d161r's?

Nope. Those are the exact same speaker except the spoke grille and tweeter housing color...the 161R is labeled Pioneer and has brighter grilles, the 701P is labeled Pioneer Premier and has darker spoke grilles.

TS-D161R

TS-D701P

Note the mounting holes on each.

Shoot. Sorry about that. I completely forgot about the Premier TS-D601P's, which are the twins to the TS-D161R. The 701P's are true 6.75", not 6.5".

They might be worth the $10 extra, especially if you are running off of deck power where the higher sensitivity would help the most.

alright, im gunna un them off 85 watts amped....but my car takes 6.75's so it might be easier, and i dont have subs yet so any little bit of lower frequency couldnt hurt

i will....just might be a while....i still gotta find out what other pair i'm going to get.......one for the back....probly either kicker ks65's, focal 165ca1's, or diamond d361i's....i wanna get 2 pairs so i can find whether i like the pioneer's highs better or the other n put them up front....maybe il just get 2 sets of pioneer's though....i dk

The Polk Momo MMC650's and Infinity Kappa's coaxials have the outboard crossover. Let's you attenuate the tweeters to your liking.

Just a thought.

my friend has a pair of polks and they seem very harsh and i hear the infinitys can be as well....im looking for something more smooth and natural and something that can at least come close to the pioneer's in loudness
