Which optima to get?

Need to replace my battery and thinking I might as well get an optima. For daily driving, starting, stock 130amp alternator, and approx 1000watts output from amp, Should I get yellow top or red top?

Does anyone have a link where I can find the correct model I need? Do I just measure what I have room for? I looked on optima's site and couldn't figure out which one would fit my car:

2000 Mustang 3.8

Hot and cold weather (northeast)

YellowTop, if you are going to spend the money just spend a little more and get a little more just in case for later you might need it. Also I have had a yellowtop under my hood for about 3 years and I have never had problems out of it. Only time she has went dead is when I went to Galveston Tx with my dad and left my car at his house with my lights on for a week.

I have parked it outside a jobsite and played my radio all day and she will crank right up no problem.. Nothing but good things out of it.

again, this would be just fine, any other questions, just ask me.
Cool thanks. I see a few diff redtop models, How do I know which will fit my car? Just got by measurements?

Why do you feel you need to upgrade the battery?
Well, been getting a lot of that white acid corrosion on the negative terminal (i think it's leaking fumes) and it's the original battery from 7 hard years ago. I get some dimming on harder bass hits. I know an alternator and an additional battery is probably the only solution for this but I figure my battery needs replacing anyways.

I was trying to do the big three and I got a terminal for the negative. Went to put on the terminal and it was too big for the post. Me being the genius I am I thought oh **** I just cut the factory wires and I need to drive this car tomorow. So i put cut down some of the original copper from the factory clamp and lined the circular terminal so it would fit on the post. I was gently coaxing the terminal on (hammer lmao) and forgot that the posts are lead. Needless to say it's a little deformed now.

Also when I went to tighten to the bolt on the teriminal heard a slight hiss like gas escaping but it immediately stopped when I let go. It's on there fine but when I started the car I noticed flickering for a few moments without even a load on it. I'm gonna replace the battery just in case.

How do I know if an aftermarket terminal will fit the posts? Are there sizes?

like i said earlier...the redtop is nothing more than a standard lead acid battery...

save yourself the cash and buy an everstart maxx for $50 from walmart with a 3 year warranty.

buying a optima red top is like buying a Fi woofer thats rebranded with JL stickers. you're not getting any special technology by going with a red top just cause it has the Optima name on it.
