Hey guys...

I am looking for a good cd player with MP3/WMA for my 2001 Honda civic. I did tons of search (online and bay area shops) and confused with so many models and features.... and finalized the following 5 HUs. Please help me to select one of the following models. My price range is US$ 200-250....Correct me, if I have excluded any other good models below in that range.....

1. Pioneer - DEH-P7400MP (2002 MODEL?)

2. Pioneer - DEH-P6500

3. Panasonic - CQ-DF783U

4. Blaupukant - KDC-MP522

5. Sony - CDX-MP70

your valuable recommendations is important to buy a HU this weekend.

Have a nice week-end, guys

Thanks...

I personally feel that Blaupunkt is overrated. The units I've looked at in stores felt a little cheap and the sound quality was nothing to write home about. Sony HU's have gone downhill in quality in the past several years, and while some of their high-end stuff is still good, I don't think they're a good brand to go with anymore, especially if you're going to be running the internal amp. I don't have any experience with Panasonic or Pioneer, but they both seem to be fairly popular brands here on the forum, so I'm sure owners of those two would chime in.

Yes, that is worth consideration, but it is out of his price range. It is reasonably priced for what you get though. I wouldn't mind borrowing one from the shop to use until my new deck gets here in a few months.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

I have the 7400MP and have had no problems from it.

It has HP and LP filters, it has a good EQ selection.

What kind of system do you plan on adding to your

new cd player?

Thanks guys....

y'day i was browsing this forum and found more stuffs like, pioneer 840mp/8400mp and few alpine and clarion models...which I did not consider earlier.....this makes my life miserable... Somehow, I have inclined towards Pioneer...Hows 8400mp gus? Is it worth buying ?

Originally posted by audiolife i have seen the clarion peice for under 270 online retail is 500 for what u get i think its a steal
Actually, list is $399 I believe(the shop sells it for that as does Crutchfield). I think it is a pretty good deal at $399, but if you don't mind giving up factory warranty, $270 or so online is a very nice price(that isn't too much over dealer cost).
