^ Takes some time for the tweets to burn in on the PRS's . At first they are a bit bright . And as for the midrange on both sets . We will both have to differ . All good though because many things come into factor so in your application they may have sounded better . Its just that with my experience swith a direct swap between the two sets , the PRS were more accurate and had better vocal and instrument reproduction then the CDT's. To each his own ya know.

I'd get the Alpine SPS-600C or the Alpine SPR-17S for a component setup. I hooked up some Alpine Type-S SPS-13C2 to 140-150 watts at full volume, ran them for awhile, then realized I didn't turn the crossover from full to high. Really good speakers. Power Acoustik had some good speakers out called XP2K. They have a new XP series out, with better surround and tweeters. For mid bass go with Elemental Designs e3.6 subwoofer.

Why are there SO MANY of these types of newbies out there? If they could just shut up and listen to other knowledgable people, they'd get a lot further a lot faster.

Pisses me off..... walkin around with attitudes thinkin' they know everything and actually have NO clue. It's people like this that steer other newbies, that actually want to learn, in the wrong direction and give them this "know-it-all" attitude.

I want some hard evidence or reasoning of what you call a good speaker and what makes it a good speaker. Why is any speaker "better" than another? And where the hell do you get off making a statement like that?

I have yet to hear a CDT speaker that I like. Besides the fact that every single one I heard had a crappy midrange reproduction, you have those horrible Ronald McDonald colors to boot.

Every CDT mid. I've heard has sounded like someone was holding a pillow in front of it. They just sound muffled with no detail. I haven't listened to any of their really expensive comp. sets though.

Between those two my personal choice would be the Image Dynamics.

i gotta a really good deal on a 3 way cdt set ( HD series, msrp 800)

they arent worth near that much. I agree the mids were lacking.

going active will save you some money (sometimes) but at the same time is alot more work to fine tune
