which is louder?

i use to have the two kickers but got rear ended and car was totalled.. now i am looking for a new system, and planning on running the IDmax12 possibly.

i thought the two kickers got loud enough for me, and just hoping that the IDmax12" could get as loud, if not louder.

thanks for the input, makes me that much more excited for my new system!

Well see how you are talking about almost 3x the power with a better built sub it should be louder, lower, and cleaner. That of course is assuming you do the install right... and by right I mean infinite baffle... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i don't even know how i would do infinite baffle... any good tips to get started?
i have a ford explorer if that makes a difference
ohh... IB pretty much requires a trunk when done in a car. Making a HUGE sealed box has the same effect. I had two 15" Image Dynamics IDW's in 8cu ft sealed getting 800w and it was amazing. The depth, clarity, volume, and accuracy was the best I've ever heard... basically using a HUGE box makes the sub act as if it's not in a box, but it's still there to catch the rear waves so there is no cancellation... I imagine 2x IDQ 12's would do the same in 6-7cu ft, if you do WinISD model the sub for under a .5 Q.
