Which is louder? (the age old question)

since you are only giving the type r and mtx's 300 watts they will sound almost the same. Now, if you were giving the type r around 500+ it would sound better. Those mtx's you got will fail compared to a type r at it's full potential. 300 watts wont move anything so you should get a better amp

ive learned that you can actually feed type r's more than 500 watts without it having a problem. You seriously might want to ditch the 300 watt amp you have and buy a better amp. You can give that type r like 600 watts and it will get loud as hell for a single 12.

Def the R, my dad has a single 12" on a 1205D Hifonics (3.5 cu ft 32HZ) and it gets loud for a single 12" and handles the power pretty nicely, will get stinky on full tilt after about 10 minutes though.

Ok so i planned on getting a 2 channel Ma Audio amp that pushes 300watts bridged And i was wondering if this "low" wattage will damage the sub? also i was wondering how i would go about connecting the sub to the amp. Finally i plan on getting either a MRP-500, MRP-450, or an Eclipse XA1000. which will be plenty loud enough for me.

if you gave the MTX about 3CuFT ported it should get plenty loud

i ran a pair off an old cobalt 260-about 240 watts rms and it got fairly loud

but if you dont have the room, go with the R
