Which Hifonics 4-Channel Amplifier Is Better?

Which one of these amplifiers for speakers (4-Channel) is better?

Hifonics TX4405

or

Hifonics ZXi4406

I cant seem to find a difference except...well, I actually cant?

Help me out, but I think the ZXi4406 is supposedly better?

The ZXi line is a lot better than the TX line.

Alright, an little opinion.

Can you explain to me how so? I look at the specs and cant seem to find anything different? And is that amplifier good all-around? Im highly thinking about buying one.

Overrated, don't know by how much but it's not alot, runs warm but have yet to ever make them go into protect due to heat.

The ZXI/BXI's are good and heavy. Lots of internal components(It's no audiobahnn) Solid design.

That being said my radio went out recently and blue the input channels on my amps. I was disconnecting the factory system and it accidently came on just as I was disconnecting the rear connectors from the radio, a spark jumped from the connector to the radio's chassis.

Since then the amps have been dead, They turn on fine, but the moment you connect any input source they go into protect. Regardless of gain settings or anything else.

Working on getting them replaced now.

Hmm, overrated? Im sorry that you had trouble with your internals on the amplifier. My speakers are Infinity Kappas, the 6.5 in front and 6x8 in the rear so I'd like input on how well this amplifier would be with the speakers. All the other amps (Infinity, Rockford Fosgate, Alpine) seem overpriced for what they should do. Any opinions?

well going by the Digital multimeter setting i was able to set the ZXI 6006 to the proper voltage for 150watts rms. I then turned it down to 125w RMS. Both were no where near maxing out the gain on it. So I'm not really sure about being "overrated" Like everyone says.

I mean, I found alot of sites for this amplifier for under $200 and it seems pretty decent. Any other inputs on the amplifier?

go with the old hifonics don't bother with the new stuff,

Hey, I dont see how that was a logical answer though. Why do you say go with the older one? The older one is discontinued by some sites, and the new one seems to be better, but I just need to be absolutely sure by you car fellas if you all think so.

Any more opinions? It would help me figure something out.

The only difference is the color? Someone else in this thread said the ZXi series was much better than the TX series though. Hmm?

I would stick with hifonics series vii,viii or gen x amps not the newer ones you are looking at....

i agree vii series was bad ***,i owned quite a few back in late 80's,but they dont make any of the above anymore,and hifonics still makes a good amplifier,if you want the best go with the xx series now.
