which head unit is best (you have heard it all before)

Hey guys

Well i have the cash and and the buying power now to go and buy a new head unit the question is which one? I have been told JVC are good for there money and I can get a mp3 capable one for a good price. Then theres the all mighty Alpine but sky rocket in price with there mp3 players, is it worth going alpine even though I wont be buying there mp3 HU if that were the case. Which one has better sound quality and more features for there money?

I'd reccomend something Sony even though people will give me hell about it...but I'm not sure if they have a .mp3 player HU or not.

I looked at the Kenwood Excelon .mp3 units back when they first came out, they didnt look too bad, and I'm sure they have dropped in price since a few years ago...

rockford fosgate hu's ****. i have the rfx9300 and it's a complete waste of money. you can't tweak the sounds at all, the tuner sucks, the bass settings really ****, the worst i seen so far, plays mp3s good, but other than that, it's a total waste of money

well seeing as how i'm known at work as the one person who buys and tries every new good h/u i can give you a little help if ya like. i work at best buy and i haven't bought anything below 5 bills retail price with the most expensive being the new sony with a 10gig hard drive built in not the one with the vio screen the higher end one. yes i did own the one with the vio screen on it as well my only complaint about that was simply fully passive sucks! anyway with that said, i can tell you the new Kenwood h/u's are great for the price of 500 retail and the pioneer 8400 is a great h/u for the price as well. personally i think alpine is absolute TRASH and wouldn't touch any of their stuff. i will get crap for that but i could care less that's my opinion and i'll stick to it. my personal favorite would be the one i ended up not returning for my money back b/c we don't sell it at Best Buy, that is my 940 premier. i love that h/u by far and away the best i've had. now if you have around 500 retail to spend i'd recommend kenwood's new h/u or the pioneer 8400 you can't go wrong with either deck. id take them over a alpine or JVC personally i wouldn't put JVC anywhere close to alpine, pioneer, sony(top end) or kenwood.

hey bumpin just got my apline7893 (the 7894-95 and up are mp3s) you say thy are trash what probs have you had or seen with them i love mine

and no i wont nock you for putin your opion in on them i just want to know

i myself haven't used them but friends of mine have and didn't like them. friends of mine also have used them and been very very happy with but still said they would take my pioneer decks any of the 3 i have owned over anything alpine makes. so i'm just saying i wouldn't touch anything alpine and it is mainly b/c 2 of my friends had theirs stop working in about 30 days of purchase that's also why.

I myself have had nothing but good experiences with Alpine or Pioneer. Rockford Fosgate should stick to amps and subs...JVC is an OK entry-level HU. Clarion and Eclipse are all great.

Too bad Sony doesnt make any outstanding head units anymore...Mobile ES was awsome.

Basically what it all boils down to, is what the user prefers..everyones preferences are different therefore resulting with no single top of the line head unit.

Im getting the Rockford Fosgate RFX9300, for $214.50 total.

It has every possilbe audio feature avaliable.

Def worth it I think!
