i would tune at 40hz. it will still drop low, but will have a nice power band 40~50hz... thats where it's usually loudest to the ear.

I have one more question for you guys. The KX1200's subsonic filter is only at 25hz so if I tune at 35-40hz what can I do so that I won't damage the sub?

set it about 30hz for a 40hz tune and you'll be fine

i wouldnt tune and box above 35hz daily, but thats just me

Here in Chicago they can impound your car for sounds but I don't think they'll do it unless you really piss them off. I don't think a single 15'' L7 can be felt outside anyways so I might not have to worry about it....

turn it on then. it won't be able to take the lowest of the lows at full tilt though.

just be careful when playing unknown material.
