Which enclosure should I get?

I am getting an Alpine SWR-12D4 and APSM-1500 amp.

Alpine SWR-12D4 (swr12d4) 12" Dual 4 Ohm Type-R Series Car Subwoofer

Amplifiers | APSM-1500

I found this enclosure on eBay and it looks like it is custom made for my sub and I was wondering if it’s any good?

12" Alpine Type R Ported Grey Subwoofer Sub Enclosure Box | eBay

I also found one on Sonic Electrnoix that has great reviews and was considering it.

Belva 1SV12B Single 12" Vented MDF Enclosure - Sonic Electronix

Which one is better to get for my sub out of these two choices?

I hear people over and over saying to get a custom made enclosure, but I can’t afford to spend $50 to $100 more.

Why not make a custom enclosure yourself? Box plans all over the net and you can buy plans/cut sheets for like 5 bucks.. go to home depot/lowes, they'll make the cuts for you, you glue it, nail it, bead the edges with either fiberglass/resin or caulking.. paint/carpet/vinyl it... done. Better sound, better dimensions for your ride, good price, and diy.

Shift + Sarcasm Button - Thanks for making it sound so easy.

I was just thinking about something like this. I've never built anything before in my life. I'd love to build my own, but it is intimidating. My biggest problem is I'm too impatient; I want to finish it now. I believe I will give it a try.

Thanks.

they got a guy on here that sells do it yourself kits, i've ran the belva though, not bad for the money at all, held up nice, nothing will sound like custom but out of what you said belva... just make sure whatever you get it 3/4+ thick and your hz/feq match up with subs...

I personally wouldn't buy either of those, I'd build my own... If you take your time & measure twice & cut once you will be fine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

If you insist on pre-fab, I've had good luck with these & this one is around the airspace & tuning I'd run that sub at... - Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Obcon-Single-12-Labyrinth-Slot-Vent-Port-1-MDF-Subwoofer-Speaker-Box-Enclosure-/400495025935?pt=US_Speaker_Sub_Enclosures&hash=item5d3f5d1f0f

That's the thing... it IS that easy. I just finished a completely custom fiberglass mold/enclosure.. took about a week from start to finish with most of the time waiting for it to harden. I've built several boxes and the hardest part was gluing/clamping and nailing it together. Just go crazy around the seems of the box with something to seal it. HD or Lowes will make all the cuts, all you have to do is cut the circle for the subwoofer and slap it together.
