Which Double DIN?

Hi All,
Looking to replace my din with either of the following;

Alpine w205

Kenwood DDX8019

JVC AVX800

Must be able to play divx, but im not sure as to which out of those has better screen quality etc.

Thanks!

M
Of those choices I would choose the Kenwood 8019 first. 5v RCA's and 2 year warranty. The screen is very nice. 6.95"

The Alpine is nice. But at the same cost as the Kenwood. I take the Kenwood all day. Alpine has 6.5" so the Kenwood screen is larger

Another you may consider is the Eclipse 5510. Those above you can add navigation later if you wish. But the 5510 has it included and the cost is about $100-$200 more. It also has the 6.95" screen and 5v output.

My choices. I think I would still take the Kenwood. If you add the Nav later you will have a seperate Harddrive and be able to update the NAV maps with an SD card from Garmin when new maps are available.

The JVC, I have never laid eyes on so not certain about that piece?

I just bought a W205 but not really for the screen quality when watching movies, to me it seems like it would be the best of the double dins for reproducing audio with a little bit of show factor. From what I have seen its screen isn't quite as good, I think screen wise I was told the Pioneers were some of the best.

The only thing is the pioneer screen is only 6" (D3), quite a bit smaller which is why i can't really see my buying it. How about the JVC?

i've just realised but by looking on alpine's site the unit cant play divx, anyone have backhand experience on this and tried it out?

this leaves the jvc / kenwood

I had the kenwood 6019 in my car, it was a pretty good deck, screen was decent. Thinkin about the 8019 for my truck. I miss watchin pron in the car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif, which is why divx is a must. Anyone else tried it on the w205? Im starting to lean towards to jvc / kenwood if the w205 cant play it.

Only DD headunits out there that can play divx are from Kenwood, JVC, Sony, Pioneer and maybe Clarion (?). Many of the cheap ones (Boss, Power Acoustics..ect) will play it too but the screen quality is going to be very iffy.

No Alpine or Eclipse that I know of plays Divx.

i see, anyone have experience of the jvc avx800? looks like a good unit and having heard the other models i was quite impressed.

The JVC dd unit is very good, that is what I'm getting for my mazda3.

All the others are good too, but they also cost a lot more.

The JVC is the best value............go for it.
