My old pioneer 8600 cost me $500 and has 13:yumyum: band eq with front and rear filters and tons of other settings. IMO one of the best decks ever but it has its quirks. It definitely has the pico fuse problem. I've grounded the rca's but i'm getting all kinds of noises with a cd in it. Face is getting where it won't open all the way and eject the cd. I was gonna get a new ribbon cable but before I know it I was looking at new decks.

All of the stuff I've been looking at is very lacking in the feature department. Some 5 and 600 dollar decks had 3 band eq and crap like that. Just looked at an alpine iva d106 that cost $900 with 2 band eq and 2 volt preout.

Are there any nice double din touchscreens/decks with some good settings for a decent price?

I had the same problem, I've always liked having active capable decks because of all of the tuning features even if I wasn't running active. I ended up doing a simple front stage and getting an avic f700bt which only has 3 band. I think you best bet is to get an alpine deck and try to find a used h701 controller or whatever. Itll be pricey, but it is pretty much the only option

I love my pioneer but I really don't want another Pioneer. However, the one I have I guess has done pretty well considering what its been put through. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif I unplugged the rca's to the amp and I was still getting static in the tweeters. Might be the ground or just cheap speakers. I don't remember them being this noisy.

I do slam them. At full tilt on jezzy with it set just right and all the deadener they will just barely make your eyes blur and are surprisingly boomy. It sounded like a new system after all the deadener.

Halfway back on topic. I was browsing ebay and came across a pioneer dex-p99rs. That deck is the seckzz. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/awesome.gif.4430a219d9aaaa6cadc75e9290979dfb.gif I'm going to order the ribbon cable and work on the grounds to see what I can do with it. If I can't get it to sound any better then just have to order a new deck before a new amp. Keep the suggestions coming on good decks with some settings.

Looked it up and that h701 is sweet and discontinued.

I'd love to have the alpine. $700 plus too much for me. The p4300 looks nice. Found it for $360. I have been busy and haven't had time to mess with the 8600. Still waiting on the ribbon cable. Hooked up the ipod and there was less static. Playing a cd and there is lot of static and noise at 0 volume. It even makes noise when you skip folders on the cd.

I did do some trading for a hifonics hifi 1000, 2 pioneer champion 12's, pa gothic 1250, and supposedly a professional built box. He tells me the box cost him $250 and that its a competition box. Box looks like 12 year old put it together... Anyway, I threw it in the truck today and it was louder than expected. The hifi is beating the heck out the 12's.
