I am trying to decide b/w several different double din dvd units right now. tell me what you would pick and why.

ALpine iva-w200

Kenwood ddx-8017 (leaning towards this one)

kenwood ddx-6019

Panasonic CQ-VD6503U

all are under $800 shipped online. Also has anyone purchased a squaretrade warrenty on any of your ebay purchases. on teh ddx-8017 a 3 year warrenty is $67.99.

the ddx-8017 adds up to $853.89 with shipping and a 3 year warrenty through squaretrade

ddx-6019 is $704.85 with a 2 year warrenty throught he ebay seller sonic electronics

iva-w200 is $832.34 with 3 year squaretrade warrenty

the w200. direct ipod connection. can fully control the h701 if you decide to buy it. plus it has the pulse button.

I was gonna get the Alpine till I learned that its just a barebone product. Any tuning capability must be added via the H701 along with Navi. It adds up to be around $1800 for what the Kenwood offers at almost half the price. Kenwood all the way on this one.

eh if i wanted a tv to watch dvds or what not, id go the carpc route, could be much cheaper and much better imo. but if i had to pick one of the three, i'd pick the w200 too. also i'm not sure about those squaretrade warranties, i've heard they are worthless.

Have you looked into the eclipse doubles like the AVX or AVN series?

looked at eclipse but they are $1000+, really stuck in the $800-$900 range. the alpione does seem like a barebone product. the ddx-8017 has alot of option for the price, the kenwood has dsp, srs surround sound, 5.1 channel output, 4 sets 5v gold plated preouts (front,rear,center,sub), time correction,5 band eq, the list goes on. the only thing making me kinda want the ddx-6017 or w200 is they are the brand new products that just came out. to get dsp and 5.1 i would definatly have to spend alot more on the w200 than the kenwood

the ddx-8017 is refurbished, but i would purchase the 3 year squaretrade warrenty

I actually went the carPC route and it's not cheaper or better. I ended up ripping it out from the frustration, selling it, and buying a W200.

The W200/H701 combo is unbeatable...the NVE-N872A add-on nav for the Alpine is also one of the best nav's out there.

I'm searching for a double din.

i see the same ones that were mantion and i finally choose the kenwood ddx8017.. but then i saw the new pioneer, and now the fight is between them.

It has 6 DVD SLOT!!!

is about u$857 en ebay.. a litlle more chipper than the kenwood that is u$895.

I discharged the Alpine because it doesn't has EQ and cross.
