Old setup 2 18” FI Q’s effective cone area-508.68(xmax 27mm)

New possibilities

6 12” Type R’s effective cone area-678.24(xmax 18mm)

8 10” Re Sr’s effective cone area-628(xmax 18mm)

All powered by an orion 2500d(if i got the R's i would be upgrading power later on). All in just under 10^3 tuned to 35hz. Which of the two do you think would be louder and how would they stack up against my old setup.

do the math, genious boy
The Q's move more air.
in 10 cubes total? maybe not...

it was an opinion also.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

with UPGRADED power, you could put 6kw to the 6 R's, you gonna put 3kw to each Q ? lol

and you would have room for a box that holds 6 12's type r's or re's?

plus why would you wanan replace something that most ppl dont have with something every highschool kid gets at like best buy

yeah i thought about that as well, but 6 12's would like just about the same amount of space as the two Q's. The best experience i've had with 12" R's is 2.5cu ft a piece, making 15 cu ft //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Out of those setups, i think the 2 18's are going to do the best.

on 2500 watts, definetely, I'd love to run 2 18"s if i could fit 12+ cubes net in my truck and still be comfortable..

but on upgraded power (5-6kw), i would go with the R's

IMO lol

well i had the 2 18"s but i sold that setup, i want to get louder....much louder. And i kinda wanna do a setup with a whole bunch of little subs.

It would still be better for him to upgrade power and upgrade the Q's.

The cost would be about the same.

With the options listed above, theoretically, if each setup was at its maximum amount of power (reaching its xmax), the 18's will be best, no doubt about it.

However, it sounds like you just want to look snazzy. The 6 or 8 sub setup will be sweet, but in theory to power limits, you wont see improvement.

also dont forget if the box is too small its gonna hold the subs back frmo their true potential.. so adding more wont really help much
