Well I just went for a small drive and picked somethings up off craigslist. (Scary I know) I ended up getting:

JBL PX300.4 (px3004) 770W Max, Power Series 4-Channel Amplifier tested and working all channels.

MTX Car Audio - Archive - Thunder 302 2 of them plus a

MTX Car Audio - Archive - Thunder 1000D all tested and working.

The mtx I thought was a cool little set and couldn't turn it down for what I paid. All amps are 9/10 condition. Now to the question. I am going to running 4 6 1/2 component sets in my car. What amps would you use for the speakers? I have not bought the speakers yet going to sell and or try to trade off the other amp/amps for the speakers. Opinions on the amps? Upsides/downsides? Values? The JBL is so large that's a downside for me but at the same time it's a power house and I was told those little thunder 302 tend to run hot.

Thanks,

David

The JBL is a good amp and does put out a good bit of power, but yes it is big. If you can fit it, that would be my choice, just intalled one in a friends vehicle actually.

You don't need two amps. The speakers come with crossovers to help protect the tweeters.

Perhaps you changed something without mentioning it here? Maybe a loose turn on line? I dunno man...but we'll take it. Hopefully it keeps working. 👍
