Which amp?

Ok so I have been trying to get an audio system going lately and I have came across two amps that I really like. The first amp is an alpine V-Power MRP-M500 it puts out 500rms @ 2 ohms. The other amp is a kenwood KAC 9152D. The kenwood pushes 900rms @ 2ohms. I can get both amps for the same price. Both are used and I know that the alpine has not been abused and the kenwood was hooked up with an kicker L7. I need help deciding which amp would be the best. I am only going to run 1 sub in a ported box. Maybe and L7. I could also use suggestions. Let me know guys and I would really appreciate it. Thanks

well yeah I know that but I thought the alpine might be a better all around amp and be more dependable and what not?

I can get either one for $100 I have shopped around a lot. I really trust the guy selling the alpine but I dont know anything about the guy selling the kenwood.

Unless Kenwood figured out a way to generate power, there is NO WAY you are going to get 900 watts RMS out of it at 2 ohms with 60 amps of fusing!

ETA: All things equal, I highly doubt you will notice a different in output between the Kenwood and the Alpine.

see thats why I was curious. I didnt know if the kenwood would really put out what it is rated to.

Just a word of warning with Kenwood products.... They tend to CEA rate them at 4 ohms whereas the other numbers given are just if struck by lightning estimates.

Well the kenwood is still rated above the alpine but I just feel like the alpine is better quality?

Can you guys suggest another good amp that might be around the same price range as these two? I am looking at getting a 12" kicker cvx but I am worried that neither one of these amps will be enough to power it.

To the OP, ^^ is the amp you want! I always liked the Phoenix Gold Xenon series and the JBL BPX series for some reason.
