Whats up guys, I just got a pair of 12" mtx 4500 thunders in a box. they are 450 RMS (1350 max watts), 2 ohms. Any way i need a "salt n' pepa" amp that will p-push it real good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I was lookin at the KICKER ZX400.1 Class-D mono amp which is 400RMS at one channel, 2 ohms. I can get this for about 140 bucks which would fit nice in my budget, but im willing to spend maybe a hundo more, i just dont really want to if these will work. Help me out guys, thanks

kicker kx600.1 can be had for that or less if its used and puts out 300wrms more than the 400.1

400.1 will do 425-460+

600.1 will do 650-685+

if the subs only handle 450rms then the 400.1 amp puts out 425-460+, whats the point in getting the 600.1, sounds like overkill to me, unless i upgrade the subs later...

If you can find a kicker dx700 they are a top notch amp, refurb or used will run in your price range, and give you room for upgrade.

4 fitty total, i found a deal for a brand new zx750 for like 190..that should give me room to grow, can anybody explain the difference between kicker amps with zx, dx, zr..... Im confused here

ZR is the A/B 2 channel amps we made in the late 90's

ZX is the 4 channel

DX is the class D, made in late 90's, DX350 and DX700

ZX is new, current stuff

i used to have a couple of the same speakes. I ran a kenwood 800 bridged to them and they sounded pretty good. i'm not suggesting this though cause those amps arent meant to run 2 ohm mono. had to rebuild mine a few times.

wait, your kenwood amp wasnt supposed to be run at 2 ohm mono or the kickers aren't?

im tempted to go with a 600.1 or 750 just in case i get some bigger subs later... and cuz i really wanna push these boys considering theyre not that big, id have to get a better offer considering i can get a brand new unrefurb for 20 bucks more than that
