im planning on buying 2 12 inch diamond audio d6's at 2 ohms. they have a rating of 600 watts rms a piece and i wasn't sure on which amp to buy to go along with these subs because of all the under/over rating of power output amps produce so im hoping this post will draw the attention of someone who has some knowledge of the following amps. the amps im considering buying are:

1. Diamond audio d5 1200.1 mono amp that says 1200watts rms at 2 ohms.

2. Infinity reference 1211a mono amp that says 1300 watts rms at 2 ohms.

3. Kenwood excelon kac-x1r mono amp that says 1200 watts rms at 2 ohms.

Basically these amps say they produce around the same power and cost the same so i was just wondering which is the better buy.

Any help is highly appreciated. thanks in advance.

do u think that the ratings listed are the real deal or something where it says it puts out 1200 watts and only puts out 900 watts. Thats the thing that im worried about.

Those are usually the really low end companies, The 3 u listed are pretty trustworthy and have proven to be good companies that make good products. So I really wouldn't worry.

That's not really an issue with the amplifiers you listed. All should do atleast rated power.

yes please elaborate on why he should not get the kenwood?

I have been running my Kenwood for some time now and it hasnt even hiccuped.

It statements like that that make people think that the people on this board are assholes and idiots!

And to OP I would go witht he Diamond for aesthetic purposes only, same price, power might as well match.

But I dont think you would be dissappointed with any of them.

i also heard the kenwood was a good choice. thanks for the input.

well i decided to go with the 2 kicker comp cvx's at 4 ohms and i wanted to ask a question. on the kenwood and infinity amps they are both mono amps but have two sets of speaker inputs. does this mean that i can wire the speakers at 2 ohms individually to separate speaker inputs? if not then im going to get the power acoustik a2400db and wire that to 1 ohm which puts out 1800 watts. and btw the cvx's have a rms of 750 watts so which setup would be better. plz help

I don't know about the other ones you listed but i've had a diamond d5 1200.1 running two tdx subs for the past 3 years and its a very good efficient (sp) amp. I spoke to an engineer at diamond and he said that the 1200 usually puts out about 1500 watts. He told me that it is not a fully regulated power supply but a semi-regulated one. They put out full power at 11.5 volts.
