Which amp do i get?

I have 12w7 and its wired at 3ohm. I used to push it with JL 1000/1 and worked just fine, but i need money and got rid of that amp. And now i have money, but not enough to spend on JL 1000/1, so what amp can i get that i can push this sub safely. I try searching and Jl is the only one that i found that can put out 1000rms at 1-4ohms. I hope there is another amp i can run to this sub.

you must not have searched hard enough because a PG tantrum or xenon 1200.1 will do 1200-1400 at 3 ohms.

1200w is way too much over 1000w?

tantrums put out like 1400w, but im sure the w7 can handle it, can always turn the gain down

the watts depend on the power the amps get when the bass hits. So it it gets 1400rms watts at any good hit it will blow that sub.

So there isn't any amp about 500rms to 800rms that can handle 3ohms?

You could get a two channel amp that puts out its bridged RMS at 4 ohms, and run it at 3 ohms. With impedance rise it will run fine.
