I think that I am going to go with the hifonics zx1000 amp which is rated at

500x2@2 ohms

250x2@4 ohms

I have started to look at alpine subs and want the best set of subs for 100 bucks or less a piece. Will a 4 ohm sub be able to run at 2 ohms?? Alpine has many subs that I have found for under 100 bucks but at the same time the ohms part is killing me..not sure what to do. I want 10's by the way. Thanks

http://www.jlaudio.com/tutorials/wiring/index.html for the sub wiring options

Order of Alpine Subs X>R>S>E in price anyways. X are out of your price range though, Type R's would be nice to get but you would under power them. Type E's are pretty nice for a beginners set up same with Type S. Either one whatever fits your budget. The R's would be the best if you could afford them and the money needed to power them(bigger amp).

How would he be underpowering them? I dont get it... 1000 watts rms is not underpowering them. Even if he got the Dual 2 ohm model and wired it to a 4 ohm load, he would be giving them the rms
