i was just wondering what kind of sounds come from the tweeter and what sound come from the mid range, obviously i know its gona be highs for the tweeter and mid bass from the mid range but what kind of sounds from actual music do each part of the comp play

its kinda hard to single out which speaker plays which instrument because of overtones and crossover points and all that. you can technically have a midrange speaker playing a hihat or a cymbal...but it probably isnt going to sound as crisp as it would from a tweeter

Now the trick is to figure out where your crossover points are and use the tables I linked above to determine what instruments your speakers are playing.

Also, different bands will utilize different frequency ranges of given instruments to separate themselves from other bands (e.g.- their sound).

For instance, say your mids and tweets are crossed at 3kHz.

Band A likes to play their lead acoustic guitar at around 2.5kHz... the mids would be handling this.

Band B likes to play their acoustic guitar at around 3.5kHz... the tweeters would be handling this.

But remember that an instrument isn't confined to a frequency, or even a small band of frequencies. Every instrument has a large range of frequencies that it hits. Especially guitars. If you set up and ran concerts for a job like I do you would understand his completely. Just watch a graphic EQ as an instrument plays. Or even vocals, there is a huge range. We had a beat boxer come and he was hitting 50 hz. And it didn't sound like crap like you'd think.

Yes, that is also correct. All I'm saying is one band may use a certain frequency or tight range of frequencies as their "signature sound" while another one may use a completely different frequency or tight range (Van Halen?).
