Where to tune rl-P 12's?

Going ported on a pair of rl-P 12's. Only have 1.5 ft^3 net per driver (3.0 ft^3 net total).

I will be able to have about 48 in^2 of port area. Power is 1600 watts total.

Mike from Sound Splinter recommends 34Hz. Some way that sounds like *** and 32Hz is much better.

I don't need ultra lows. I want that kick drum snap. What would be a better tune for that?

Thanks all.

I agree with rc10mike. Sealed is a great way to go. Plenty of output still and lowend is very amazing. If you port it, I'd tune it low as Aaron mention. Personally I'd tune under 30 Hz.

Problem is I can't tune below 32Hz without giving up volume. I don't want to try and port with less than 1.5 ft^3 per driver.

Sealed I know is an option. However, the extra 3 dB or so would be really nice from the port.

32Hz was the sweet spot for my 15's on rock music. Tuning at 34Hz seemed to lose some punch and have a "hollow" sound on some music...

This man speaks the truth, he build (2) boxes to back up his statement //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

But I honestly agree, im currently running one 15" at 28hz and the lows are beautiful, but I would seriously consider the 32hz tune for rock music.

Very versitale subs they seem to work very well in just about any enclosure close to Mike's specs...
