Where to put subs?

I was wondering could I put the subs in the rear pannel under the rear windshield. It would not be in a box, we would cut holes in some ply wood, that is matched to the same size of the rear pannel. Would the subs hit as hard this way? Oh, I forgot to add that the subs I am getting are 12" SDC2.5's. If you have any other input to where I should put them, please tell.

Thanks, Jimmy

and if you search someone built a box and used the rear deck as the baffle
It's a pretty common practice. Well, not too common. But it's not rare. The only problem I see with that is the fact that anyone can see you have a sub waiting to be taken... not to mention it'll be a btch to screw in, unless you know how to take your rear window off.

But what the OP is describing is an IB set-up. Some subs work well in IB set-ups. But you have to seperate the trunk from the cab (in terms of pressure). So you have to use expandable foam and wood and weather stripping and anything else to make sure that the cab shares no common air with the trunk. I don't know if your sub would work well in an IB set-up.

I would pick a better sub then the AQ, those are decent but would really sound like crap in an IB setup. Get yourself some quality subs like IDQs especially for an install like that.
