Where to put ports

i am building a 1.0 enclosure for a rockford he and was wondering where on the box should i place the port.This encloure is for a suv.And what size port is best for this sub,it's a rockford he 12" will it be ok to use a 5"port

this is box parameters are for a jbl 12" but have at look at it to at least have an idea of a box you're gonna make, it has parameters for sealed and ported sub. frequency response are also included. check it out.. pretty useful..
