that leaves the subs like...5 inches from the roof. id prefer to make a shelf and put them on 1 side between the box and the window. good idea?

as long as its sterdy and secured down so they dont jump around when the bass is on, or when u turn, or go over a speed hump and crach the window or pop the speaker..

or a smaller box...
