Where to put amp

I just upgraded my door and rear deck speakers and im getting an amp to power them. The amp wont fit under my seats or anywhere else. Will there be a loss in quality if I run the Hi-outs (until my new radio is purchased in a few weeks because my pre-outs are now screwed for the fronts) to the amp in my trunk, then run the door speaker wires back up to the front of the car. The car has nowhere else that it can go. I just don't want much quality loss. Also, what about when I go back to pre-outs?
