Where to point subs?

If i'm building a box for 2 kicker L7 15's, and they're going in the trunk of a sedan, where should they be pointed? Im assuming having the subs and ports both pointing at the back seat of the car is the best idea?

Actually in my camry the subs hit harder when facing the taillights. im using a slot ported box tuned to 35 hz.

it doesnt really matter from the sound aspect of it because bass is not distinctive to an area. but point them to the rear of the car. i had my old L7 pointing up toward the rear deck and it sound aight but when i put it facing the rear it got louder

why dont you try out for yourself and then find out where they sound the loudest....

go ahead and face them to the rear. people seem to get best results that way.

That wasn't meant as snappy, more as snide/sarcastic. A question Im still not sure on though, if the subs are pointed to the back, should the ports still face the cabin?

you know the most optimum set up (so I hear) is if oyu build a retaining wall between the cabin and the trunk that is airtight between the two. Then have a cut out for the subs and ports to face through. It all goes straight into the cabin, and no loss from the trunk. YOu get the sound from the cones of the subs. the ports reinforce the sound. Its not overly important to have the ports face the same direction of the subs though. Make sure the ends of the ports are not pointing to the back of the sub though. I often have the subs in the front, and the ports firing up. Sounds great.

my subs face the back wall and my ports face up towards the open factory 6x9 holes. reason I say open holes is because they werent open at first but the pressure of air coming out from the sub box actually blew the factory 6x9s LOL now I have 6.5" comps in a fiberglass enclosure on top the rear deck.

just volume. YOu ahve to have an open wrelm inside the box though, it can be a maze of braces. any internal bracing should have air holes to allow air to pass through freely.
