Can I divide 1 port into 2 ports?

The one area I lack in car audio is ported boxes.

If my calculations are correct, my port will be 35.5T x 5W x 32.75 which is 87.5 square inches of port. How do I split that into two ports correctly without cutting down my port width too much which would result in port noise?

Well beause I am thinking about putting one port on one side and one port on another. Its because of my weird box design. Its posted in this thread, but not one replied to it so after 10 bumps, I quit

So that crazy thing is gonna be separate chambers now? Did you want to split the port for bracing or actually separate the airspace for the whole box? Is the lexan so you can watch the pretty smoke from the subs when it happens?? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

No I dont want to do it for that reason. My port will run into the back of the box and the back of my box is part of my wedge part of my enclosure. And why would my subs smoke up?

Unless anyone wants to hit me up on AIM and help me out. You can either explain me a little bit about it or whatever. Grand Am Trunks are small and are oddly shapped.

35.5 tall and 5 wide is a tiny bit more than 87 sq in

15.5 x 5 is 77.5 sq in

how big is the port? lol

if you split it into 2 evenly sized ports, 1/2 the area of the original, each port will still need to be around the same length.

it's a joke, just don't do like psyence did and blow them by putting way more than RMS in 'em!!

btw, you coming down for the Oct 1 show???

Yeah I figured it was a joke, just thought I was makin a mistake for a second. LOL

As for the Oct. 1st show, yeah Ill be there //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif As long as I get this boxed built. Sooner I get it figured all out, the better my chances are to be down there.
