Where to invest savings?

whoops... missed that... I agree, if it's just for two years and he wants to MAKE money he's going to have to take a risk... or only make a small amount of gain

I do not need a huge gain, I was just wondering if there was a place to put my money for two years that would earn better then 4.75%. I do not have time to watch it, I basically want to place it, and look for it again in 2 years. I just figure its better to place it in something different then a savings account only earning 1% or less.

CDs or money market.

A 2 year bond or something similar should "secure" you a small return rather than risking it and losing some.

well if your're looking for a safe place to hide some money for only 2 years for such a specific purpose you might just take the 4.75.... but I suppose it's up to you
