I'm all up for SQ but I wouldn't pay $500 for a sub that I have to double check to make sure it's sounding. I mean, I appreciate the technology behind this subwoofer. It's a marvel. I'm not ignorant. This thing is science. But I like to feel the bass. The rumble. The aftertones. The dirtyness. It's part of the experience. We're "trained" to hear bass this way and feel it.
Then, all of a sudden you have a sub that you go, "Why isn't sounding?" I bet it sounds celestial. But not fun at all. If I want straight SQ, I have a system at home for that. But I'm driving. My car is loud. Loud turbo. Loud blow-off valve. Loud wastegate. I want loud music, too. It's part of the experience. I think this sub is too extreme. The opposite would be a sub that breaks glasses and ear drums but you cannot distinguish a single musical note from it, lol.
