Where to get MDF

If you can afford it, try and locate some Ultralight MDF (ULMDF). This stuff is considerably more expensive but it is very very light! What usually takes 2 people to easily move a 4'x8' sheet of regular MDF one person can move a 4'x8' sheet of ULMDF.

The advantages to spending more money? This stuff is so easy to work with! It cuts like paper and leaves edges that are smooth and tight, even with a dull blade. When building enclosures your seems need to be perfect. Also, because it is not as dense at regular MDF, the sound is better IMO.

I cant cut for shit, but if i build another box, they will cut for me, but in the mean time, i fuond a guy that designs, builds and installs your box for $100 cash at a rimshop. Cool dude too.

If you're going to go that route, make sure you tell him what size and tuning you want...a generalized box will not do. You could even go to him with a design to be safer and just have him put it into reality.
