where to get 80 amp fuse?

Hey guys can anyone name a couple of national retailers (or at lest in NYC) that I can get a replacement 80 amp fuse. Radio Shack only carries up to 20 amp . Thank you in advance.

yeah, we kind of need to know whether anl or agu...

probably AGU, those come with most 4ga amp kits.

you can buy them at any nat'l retailer (BB, CC, even RS sells AGU fuses...)

I used to run that type of fuse... I could only find 60A at autozone, dunno where to get larger ones. I did an install on a friends truck that used a 100A Maxi Fuse though so you should be able to find it SOMEWHERE.

advantage to sticking to common fuse types (AGU, ANL...)

you don't have to worry about being without bass for an extended length of time when your fuses blow...

MAXI fuses are pretty easy to get. Any audio shop that carries Stinger or Lightning audio or Streetwires should have them on hand or be able to get them quickly. They come from Stinger in packs of 3 so you have a few extras to keep around in case you blow one. If you are blowing fuses of the correct size, then you have other problems that need addressing, so don't just keep replacing them or move to a bigger size to keep them from blowing.

Thanks guys for the help. I ended up getting a 60 amp fuse at Straus for $3.97 (they were out of 80 amp fuses). Fuse was fine until I accidently let the power cable tpouch the body of the car (sparks aaaah!), but now it's rocking again.

Which is why you remove the fuse and /or disconnect the negative battery cable before disconnecting anything else and put the fuse in last. No chance of shorting anything that way.
