i went to stereo integrity.com and i couldent find magnums for sale on there, how much do they go for? i'v been thinkin of changin to something more SQL oriented from the L7's ...

i dunno about a comparison w/ L7's

i would guess better low end and SQ, I know that a guy on here did a direct swap w/ Mag D2's and SX's and the Mags were louder.

I used to have 2 12" L7's and now i have 2 12" Mags and the Mags dominate the L7's in almost everything. They have better low end extension, a hell of a lot better sound quality. it is the best subwoofer i have ever heard. it isnt as breathtaking as my l7's were but then again i have 900 watts to each L7 but i only have 400watts each to my Mags. I plan on getting a new amp soon and running 500 daily and about 1300 to each every once and a while. I don't think i will be able to stand them on 1300 watts daily. They are loud as fuk already.

I hear a lot of people saying the mags are impressive with little wattage temporarily (say around 400 rms), how much better is it when going from that to 900+ rms?

I couldn't tell you, only been running it at 400 for the time being.

400 to 900 will get you another 3 dB which may not sound like a lot but it will be a very noticeable improvement.

I would definatly reccomend the Mags, they are one kick *** woofer. very effecient, loud, accurate, and clean. The best SQL sub on the market in my opinion.

how big of a ported box for one 12 mag would most people go with?
