where to buy a good 16v alt

not all amps need mods to run 16v.
about how much cash are we talking about to buy a step down and a regulator? pretty much any alt can have a regulator added right?

and where do you get this stuff?

Only amps with unregulated power supplies like higher voltages.You can't just hook any old amp up to 16v setup which usually charges at 17.8-18.5v.

As for regulator your looking 80-100 and step down about the same.

If your alt has an enternal regulator you will need to talk to DOm and see what he can do for you.Shouldn't be to much, however some vehicles are regulated by the ECU and the alt is un-regulated you'll just have to check.

i'd check my local yellow pages. you'd be surprised what a local ALT shop can do and usually have competitive or better rates.

the alt shop around here quoted me 750 and couldnt promise me my alt would work after i payed so i said screw that

Look into Ohio Generator ,Iraggi ,Mean Green, H.O. Alts,Power Master.Any of those should be able to get you something.

Charge voltage should be 2.4v per cell for AGM style batteries.

14.4 for 6 cell / 19.2v for 8 cell.

I have seen people charge that high but some amps don't like 19v.And your only aloud 18v in DBdrag nothing higher.

The charge voltage will drop under load, but that is the charge voltage of a 16v system with AGM batteries. I am not taking any rules into consideration. These are the specs of AGM batteries.
