where to apply this?

i have a problem. i would like to apply sound deadener to my vehicle, because it rattles like no other. the only problem is, i dont have a conventional truck that i can just stick it all around, i have a hatchback/fastback camaro. in other words, there is a window in the place where i could apply deadener. i cant see any useful places to put it because the main component that IS shaking is the windowed area. any tips on where i can apply the deadener?

You need the clear sounddeadener for your back window.

But seriously, sounddeadening mat isn't always the way to solve noise/rattle problems. If your back window is the main problem with your rattles, well then obviously its rattling against something else (the window seal/sheetmetal). This point is where your attention should be applied. Many times simply placing a non-metalic peice of meterial like foam between the two offending surfaces will rid you of the unwanted vibrational noises. Maybe you'll have to get a bit more creative and find a way to have your window come down tighter and seal against the rubber seal better. Maybe you simply need new window shocks or to tighten your hinges.

There are many possibilities here, you just gotta look at it, and use some common sense. Seems everyone wants to just buy a boat load of deadening mat and start covering everything, when many times a cheaper, lighter and better performing alternative could be found if they'd just stop to think, rather than just do what everyone else is.
