huehuehuehueI took an intro to CAD class as a high school freshman 4 years ago...
what company do you work for?I draft hard on occasion, mainly do alot of tolerance work.
sketchup is a turd compared to SolidWorks, or Inventor. but it works for simple stuff.I've done some 2D AutoCAD in the past but mostly electrical drawings not a lot of modeling, but I do use sketchup quite a bit for modeling subwoofer & reptile enclosures...(if that counts as drafting?)

Works well enough for what I use it for...I would even argue it's better for simple designs than either of those more feature rich programs simply because of the ease of use. I remember AutoCad having a million functions I had no idea how to use and it could be somewhat overwhelming. you would be amazed at how much faster you can draw in inventor and SolidWorks. those features really speed things up.Works well enough for what I use it for...I would even argue it's better for simple designs than either of those more feature rich programs simply because of the ease of use. If you've been trained in it and know how they all work, yes, but mere peasants such as myself will be much better off using sketchup.you would be amazed at how much faster you can draw in inventor and SolidWorks. those features really speed things up.
