Where does Kicker rank

kicker is some of the best stuff out there believe it or not it just depends on install
I do also agree with this to an extent... I wouldn't say they're the best out there, but the install can and will make a difference. You can take the best sub on the market and put it in a crappy prefab box and it will sound like garbage. If you take a cheaper sub and put it in a good box, built to the proper specs, it will sound pretty decent.

Where does Kicker rank in quality, SQ and durability when it comes to subs? Many years ago when they were made in the USA, they were considered top notch. What about today? The L7, L5, CVX or solo classic woofer line.

In SQ, the sub output is turned VERY LOW:D Competitors aim to keep anything in their car from sounding overpowering or distinct, thus they want the sub to blend in with the music and make its presence not too well known.

As for Kicker, my teammate has a 18" Solo X and I like it. However, I'm not a fan of the L7's, but do like the amps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Kicker L7 and L5 are pretty nice for getting loud. They fit 90% of teenagers needs. They get very loud, rattle stuff in the neighbor's house, and you can hear them from 2 blocks away.

On the other side, I have never heard ANY Kicker sub OR speaker with a tiny amount of SQ.

They get loud, but have terrible response, especially on transient notes. Maybe they sound okie dokie on newer rap, with all that computerized bass that already sounds like crap, but ry them on an old gospel song using a stand-up bass.

I have a pair of L7 12's, and I HATE them. They are very loud, but aren't smooth at all. You can always tell that they are wanging, never blending in. I cannot get them set at level where they sound nice with all music. If you turn them up to blend with older country, they are extremely overpowered on rap or on FM radio commercials.

I myself think that the amps are top-notch. I would love to have a new Kicker 5-channel.

The main thing I like from Kicker now is their wire and amplifiers. I don't really like the subs or components/coaxs they make.

Personally, I go with Kicker as a FIRST choice when I need a mono amp for a 2ohm load and that's about it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.
