lowes got some representation on teh ca.com
Lowes is definitely not all that its cracked up to be.

Lowes is the stone in my kidney. Which after it passes, another one forms twice the size of the last one.

Thats just b/c our managers at our store are just power hungry control freaks.

Except for two....two of them are cool. Other stores may be better to work for.

The BEST job in Lowes IMO is in Receiving. You don't have to mess with customers, you get weekends off, you come in at 7am and leave at 4pm, freight comes in you check it, scan it, and then put it up or bring it out to the floor for other people to put it up. You get paid pretty good too, even tho I'm getting paid more than one of our receiving guys and hes been there for 3 years and I started last June.

Give you my job description....

I deliver appliances and whatever people want delivered from 7am till ???

I may get off at 2pm or 9pm that night and there have been times i went in at 7am and got off at 10am. Definitely no set time at all. It just depends on how many deliveries you got that day and if the salesman wants to add anymore to you that day. Which has happened plenty of times. I would get done after a long day and then go to clock out and they would say "Oh hey guys uh.....yall got 3 more, they just sold them and the customers need it right now". And it would be like a lawn mower, a $3,000 dollar fridge and a microwave. Something that they absolutely have to have right now ya know.

One perk about working delivery is that I am the only employee along with other delivery workers in the store that can get overtime and it would be ok. Just because of the weird hours I have to work is why they allow me to get it.

Old Dutch. A Grocery store. Cashier/bagger/stocker.

Also the cigarette control manager. I talk to all the reps from RJ Reynolds, etc. I get so many funny looks from the reps who are expecting to see some 40 year old man, and they get me, a 19 year old guy who looks about 16 lol

Too bad I only get paid 6.25 an hour //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

This is an example of how every store is different. At our store, deliveries have set schedules and work the floor when not in use.

not to be rude, but why in the f*** are you on unemployment then?
that kinda pis**** me off b/c my grandparents who are 82 and 76 just filed for bankruptcy becuase they cant afford their medication and their bills. there are people that could really use that money. They cant even afford food, my mom has been paying for that for the last two years. I just think its bullshi* that my grandpa is a WWII veteran who flew 18 missions (IIRC) over Europe as a belly gunner, and they had one of the highest mortality rates of anyone in the war, yet the most our county can do for them is 150 bux a month. yet we have no problem giving money to a 18 y/o living at home?

aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh

/rant.
i understand your venting and all,but you are about to buy 2 exspensive subs and you have an exspensive amp, hell why don't you buy their meds sometimes,by the way i'm a letter carrier,i make 23.98 an hour with up to 20 hours a week overtime at 36.00 an hour so not to shabby, but living in cali you need to make decent money

I'm a Systems Engineer for Verizon. If there's a more misleading title for a job out there than that one, then I'll be surprised! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Lowe's isn't all its cracked up to be....some days are good, some days you think "How do you feel when you are talked to like a dog by customers and managers at the same time because you have two phones" should be on the job application.

Honestly, this will be the case in any job which requires interaction with your customers....been there, done that.

Was a full-time Sales and Install manager for Circuit City...became a part-time product specialist for the weekend only. I work for Comcast Cable full-time now as a Communications Technician.
