Where do YOU set your gains at?

This is not a thread on HOW to set gains but on what YOU personally have them at.
I'll start.

4 Channel Amp:

Rear Channels about 1/2 way up

Front Channels about 3/4 way up

Sub Amp:

about 3/4 ways up, bass boost all the way up
wow....looks like your sending your sub a clipped signal.

This is a worthless thread, the gain on each amp may be different, not to mention the voltage difference in head units, just give up now.

I set them approiately for what the set-up is //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

Ding! Ding! Ding!

Give that man a kewpie doll!! We haaaaave a winner.

Me too.

Both of my amps are back there so generally that's where the gains get set when it happens.

I haven't set a gain since I bought my D61500.1 from excelerater and installed it but there ya go. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I know every amp is different, I was just trying to get an "average" of where people have their gains set to on their amps. ALot of people use meters, do it by ear, but just wanted to see when everthing was said and done where about did their gain get set at. Sorry to bother everyone...

That's worthless, bass boost just clips the signal even more, you might as well take a sledgehammer to the subs, they're goin' to be worthless soon anyway.

the dmm way is a waste of time IMO

i tried it one time and went right back to setting it by ear, i do use my dmm to gain match though, unlike some other people ive seen who just randomly set each amps gain

Because, with a DMM you're only making sure you're not going over a certain voltage at certain settings, a DMM is worthless, unless you're matching gains that is. Setting it by ear you can hear the signal being clipped (distortion).
