Obviously you've never been a paid musician. You fail to realize the effort it takes to produce an album. When you download music you not only ****over the bands and the record companies, but also the producers, sound engineers, and all others associated in making records.Musicians make their money from tours not albums, if they are any good, people will go see them...
Please re-read my post. I stand firm on what I said. The public is striking back and there is nothing your self-righteous *** can do about it.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gifObviously you've never been a paid musician. But if it makes you feel less guilty of robbery, o.k.
Last time I checked' discussing illegal activites is looked down on. Maybe use some sense.First of all little man, fuck yourself. You come in this forum running your mouth like that you will NOT last long.
Second of all, I own over 500 compact discs and am an avid listener and collector of them. I use filesharing to listen to music before I buy a disc. I also use filesharing for ****, software and the occasional music video. I've always made my own MP3s out of my own collection of discs. There was a time when I hated the RIAA and in fact I still do. They want to bitch about copyrights when it was them who gouged the American people with HIGH CD PRICES when in fact they had become considerably cheaper to make. They made money hand over fist in the 80s and a good part of the 90s. It was only natural the public would strike back at them. Now they wanna piss and moan about it. I say fuck them and they get what they get. I still do and will continue to buy "used" and a select few "NEW" cds but I will listen to music before I buy it.
Not if I listen to it then delete it. I told you I buy cds, I like Sound Quality and MP3s aren't equal to CDs. I make my own MP3s for use in the car instead of having a changer.Im sure you own lots of music and donate money to starving kids in africa and pick up trash at the park, whatever, downloading music illegally is STEALING.
As I just said its not stealing when you only audition the music. As far as listening to clips??.......give me a freakin break, you can't get the jist of of a song from a damn clip. Album reviews? Give me another freakin break. Opinionated reviews do me nothing good since that only states how someone else liked a certain album, NOT ME. Rationality is what I deam necessary to listen before I buy. Where is the "rationality" in buying a disc and then finding out I can't stand it.??How can you possibly justify stealing? You sound like your trying to stick it to the RIAA, ignoring those you hurt in the process. If you want to listen to music before you buy it, go to amazon.com or walmart.com and listen to the clips they have, read album reviews, use some rationality.
Why would I own less albums when I already told you I collect CDs and demand more quality sound then what MP3 has to offer.?? IF you're guilty too then why are you looking down on everyone on here and giving us all a "fuck you all"???? That little man makes you a hypocrite. Most of the people I know do not buy cd's anymore, at all. Its all downloaded. Im sure if bit torrents existed in the 80's and 90's, you would own significantly less albums. Im guilty too, its so tempting to just type in your favorite artist and click away, it doesnt feel harmful, but it is.
DO you honestly think having a few pop up ads is enough to for the studio, the server itself, the years it takes to master an instrument, and the effort put into song writing? Music is the primary basis of income for many folk, stealing it helps no one but yourself. I agree the RIAA can't do shit, but any bit of effort will help.Trying to control people through fear and threats doesn't work ... In this type of economy, the only way to make money is to give the people what they want and find a way to make money from it ... For example, they could make their own free download services and sell advertising and, with the amount of hits they would get, they would make a lot of money ... Think of all the money they would save themselves on the legal battles, their own anti-piracy advertising, etc., but they're just being completely closed-minded about the situation ...
The RIAA and other organizations have to stop being so stubborn about this situation because, let's face it, once people get it for free for so long, they're not just going to stop unless it's a very real, very probable threat, which will cost billions ...
You realize mp3's are not the only form of downloadable music? Not to mention an mp3 file can be compressed to a larger bitrate to sound identicle to the original, so throw that argument out the window. Hell, with torrents, they can even pirate the **** cd art!Not if I listen to it then delete it. I told you I buy cds, I like Sound Quality and MP3s aren't equal to CDs. I make my own MP3s for use in the car instead of having a changer.

A big "**** you" from me to all of you
?? My argument isnt that mp3 = CD, its that mp3 isnt the only downloadable form of music, you can JUST as easily download a lossless format. CD quality means absolutely nothing to most people. Besides, hardly anyone can distinguish a well encoded mp3 from the original. Unless you actually know about encoding techniques, dont bother arguing. variable bit-rate encodings sound identicle to cd.Your argument is flawed. In many parts of the world, file sharing is still legal. Like Canada, for instance. Your argument that MP3 = CD is not sound. MP3 is a LOSSY format. You will never get the same sound from an MP3 as from a CD. It just isn't possible. For some people, it may be good enough. but to others, it just won't do.
This whole fiasco is all about money though. Many artists have forgotten about the actual music. Most modern day music is horrible as opposed to how music was in the 60s and 70s... sans disco. There are bands I choose to support simply because they put out good music, and I shall be seeing them in concert and whatnot. For instance, my favorite band (Radiohead) will be playing next month. This band has not forgotten about the music. In fact, when their last album was released, it was pirated on the internet. Sure, they griped and moaned about it, but it was not because they were losing money. They griped because the people that were listening to their music were not getting the finished copy. If artists could go back to this concept, I believe that the industry would be a lot happier.
It seems Im the only one who has common sense in this thread. Everyone elses argument seems to be "**** the RIAA" and "those musicians are rich, so its okay"//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
Im laughing in your general direction.
At all of your posts in this thread.
uh, no shit, the only cost for running a simple website is server space. You don't think you can make any money from advertising ? Funny how this forum, which sees a lot less hits than what they would get, is able to pay for itself and then some from advertising ...

BTW when have you piped in your argument?
Mp3 can have up to 320 kbs, and like I said there are many lossless files that are shared too. Most people cant tell the difference on portable mp3 players anyways, so throw that argument out.MP3s are nowhere near identical to .cda format ... If you have a sound system with a good dynamic range and low distortion, you're definitely going to hear the difference between CD Audio and a format where 86% of the information has been removed (192 kbps MP3) ...
It's not stealing music, for one ... It's fileSHARING ... Someone went out and bought the CD, uploaded it onto their computer as an mp3 file, and decided to share it with the rest of the world ...
Oh, wait, downloading is illegal, therefore we should put 10s of millions of people in prison ... That'll work out well for everyone ...
The RIAA is a fvcking joke and so are you ... Go graduate from high school, spend some time in the real world, and go fvck yourself with a rusty blade ...
