Where do you CRX guys get your H.O. alts?

Hey guys. The crx I just bought has a 60 amp alt, so obviously I'll be tossing it. Where are you getting your HO's from? I see a couple on ebay, a 165amp for $175ish and a 185amp for $250ish. I forget the name brand, some nobody I think. Any better deals out there? Thanks.

I know Ohion Gen is an option, but they are expensive. This is a little beater car, I dont want to spend too much cash on this thing.

I dont know much about Mechman.

Ive gone through Iraggi before, but his CS after the sale left something to be desired.

I was hoping a CRX guy or two would chime in with some prices I should expect to pay. But I imagine $250 is going to end up being the cheapest.

if you want to cheap out get a alt off a suburban, large case gm alts work with a very small amount of modification

See this is interesting, I have a full-size GM 260 amp from Iraggi I originally bought for my S10 Blazer. It looks awfully big to fit though, plus I assume the plugs are totally different...? I was assuming I was gonna need a stock sized case since its so small to begin, and not alot of room around it. Maybe I need to look closer.
Thanks for the info on Powermaster and Mechman, two options I hadn't thought of yet.

my large case GM worked, but it was externally regulated.....

and yes it is very large and not fun to fit in there, but it can be done lol

You have to make the top bracket a bit longer and you have to put a few washers on the bottom since the bottom bracket for the large case alt is about 1/4" smaller than the honda one

Wow thanks alot for the info and pics man. I see how you mounted it, clean. Mine isn't externally regulated, but I do have a module that makes it a 2-wire, so I may be able to make it work anyway.
