I need some help and suggestions on what to get

I just bought a 2003 Crown victoria police interceptor and it has no stereo or speakers it does have a fairly large hole in the dash where some police equipment was. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what type of stereo/spkr. equipment to put in it im completely lost on what all it needs. I live in az so if anyone has any shop recommendations that would be most helpful. Im not looking for super high quality but I dont want garbage either just something that would be better than a stock system...kind of a baller on a budget situation... Any advice would be appreciated...thanks!
