i was thinkin about maybe starting my own business such as cbrstereo or ikesound or etronics. the ones that are on ebay. i think that it would be pretty good money with the added bonus that i can buy the stuff cheap for myself as well. so where exactly do these stores get their stuff from? i would like to possibly start an ebay business to compete with those companies mentioned above.

Man, I always wonder the same.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Where do they get that that cheap.

One thing I can tell you... I've ordered alot of things and can say they don't buy from the US, since all the boxes they use for packaging are box they receive from Japan, China, Korea....

I guess they use oversees distros...

im guessing they by straight from the manufactorer for wholesale price. but i would like to know where exaclty. im not gonna contact ikesound or anything cause im sure they wont tell me so i couldnt comppete with them if i chose to really go through with this idea

Get a business phone book and look up some forgeign manufactorers in the middle east and buy from them in bulk, the more you buy the cheaper it is.

hope this helps.

No way most of them buy direct from the manufacturer...atleast not manufacturers who have authorized dealers.

Pioneer/clarion, for example aren't going to sell directly to some unauthorized dealer so they can sell on ebay.

I think most of them buy from authorized dealers who "***** ship" the goods to the unauthorized dealers. There are also distributors who may sell to the ebay sellers.

No way would I get involved in online car audio sales like ikesound. They aren't authorized for most(if not all) of the stuff they carry which doesn't make repairs very easy, and you would have to do a ton of volume to stay in business given the relatively low margins they are making on alot of their stuff.

hmmmm.... i wasn't aware the middle east made audio stuff.

And yes, you can get stuff directly from mftrs, but you'll need to make your own brand.

I think sites get their stocks from wholesale warehouses. Search around, not too hard to find warehouses dealing only in bulk orders.

don't know if electronics work like this, but seiko, the watch mfg, makes two diff types, one for US sale, one for overseas. The overseas is made w/cheaper parts. But seiko sells both types to import/exporters, and from there, seiko doesn't care where they actually end up. So there are cheaper, genuine seiko watches out there, but if they break, seiko of america will not honor the factory warranty; it has to be sent to seiko of asia or wherever. Is this a huge deal? Not to most, but it's something to keep in mind.
